Good evening, VSO participants! A few notes to share on the eve of our Spring 2021 Season getting started.

Social Distancing Measures:VSO will be following the protocol established by the Mississippi Soccer Association in Phase IV of their return to play protocol at

Please read the entire link, but some highlights of this phase are:

-Players/spectators/coaches WILL need to wear masks when moving to/from the fields.
-Coaches WILL wear masks when coaching.
-Players will NOT be required to wear masks while playing but should while sitting on the sideline (after cooling down)
-Spectators will NOT be required to wear masks when sitting and watching but should if they intend to cheer or are not socially distanced.
-When games begin, players and parents from each team will occupy one sideline while the players/spectators from the opposite team will occupy the opposite sideline.

We understand some of these rules will feel like an inconvenience, but it is what is required to play soccer and to keep our players and families safe.There will be no temperature checks, nor do we have the manpower to enforce mask rules, but we encourage parents, siblings, coaches, and players who are not actively playing to attempt to keep yourselves and others safe by wearing masks, washing your hands, not sharing water bottles or other equipment, spreading out as much as possible, and staying at home if you or your family members have been under the weather or exposed to Covid-19. Each team has a roster large enough to absorb a player missing a practice/game due to illness or an abundance of caution. We are all in this together. When in doubt, please do the right thing!
If we don't, we could lose our opportunity to continue playing soccer at this time.
